Dilwara Temple, Mount Abu
Dilwara is a famous Jain temple in Rajasthan just about 3 kms from Mount Abu. The temples are made of stunning marble built during 11th and 13th century AD by the famous Chalukyas. It is considered one of the beautiful Jain temples in all over the world. It is built between forested hills making it a beautiful sight altogether. Though Jains built other beautiful temples around Rajasthan but none of them close to the beauty of this Dilwara temple.



Five Temples of Dilwara :
Divino Indian Memoirz tries to give you the glimpse of 5 temples all having different identity from one another. Each temple is named after a village.
- Vimal Vashi Temple : This is one of the main Dilwara temple which is entirely made of white marble. It was laid in the year 1031 which was dedicated to first Jain Trithankara (teacher or guide) named Adinath. The temple got completed 14 years later and it is said it cost nearly 180.5 million. The temple is built in an open courtyard which is surrounded by corridor having numerous cells bearing smaller idols of Trithankaras. The ceiling of the temple is designed with the petals of lotus buds, flowers, petals and picture from Hindu and Jain mythology.
- Luna Vasahi Temple : This is the other main temple among the Dilwara temple dedicated to 22nd Jain Trithankara Sri Neminath ji. The temple was laid in the year 1230 under the patronage of 2 brothers named; Tejpal and Vastupal. The main hall consists of central dome hanging a big ornamental pendant which is featuring a grand and elaborate carving. Other temples are smaller than these two.
- Pittalhar Temple : The temple was built between 1315 and 1433 and it was built by Bhima Shah, a minister of Sultan Begeda of Ahmedabad. A big statue of 1st Trithankara made of brass (Pital).
- Parshvanatha Temple : This temple is dedicated to 23rd Jain Trithankara Lord Parshvanatha buid by Mandlik and his family, having 3 storeys being the tallest among the Dilwara temples.
- Mahavir Swami Temple : This is a temple small in structure; it was built in the year 1582 and is dedicated to 24th Jain Trithankara Lord Mahavir.
