Taragarh Fort
Taragarh Fort also called ‘Star Fort’ is one of the most significant structures of the city of Bundi, Rajasthan. Though the fort is now been ruined with the outgrown vegetation, it is 39kms away from Kota. The fort was built in the year 1354 AD on a steep hillside. Taragarh Fort comprises of 3 gateways namely; Phuta darwaza, Lakshmi Pol and Gagudi ki phatak, most of the gateways have nearly diminished. In the bygone era the fort was famous for the tunnels which crisscrossed the entire hillside.
Taragarh Fort had massive water reservoirs where water was stored for the times of crisis. These huge reservoirs were made of solid rock base which became as the shelter of almost all the people of that region in those years. ‘Garbha Gunjan’ said to be the second largest water cannon of India is located at the fort. ‘Rani Mahal’ a small palace in fort is another major attraction where the wives of the rulers used to stay.

Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpura is a beautiful mosque which is about 3kms away from Taragarh Fort. You can also enjoy the view of Nagpahari of Aravali Ranges situated very near from the fort. ‘Dudha Mahal’ is also one of the attractions for the tourist to see.
