The city inside the Jaisalmer Fort :

At the time of Muslim invasion, when the fort was surrounded by the Sultans then necessity was felt to build a fortified structure for security reason. Therefore, in the year 1508, A.D Maharawal Jetasai added a fort named Rang Buri. The view of the sand dunes from the fort is very fascinating.

The entrance gate of the Jaisalmer Fort is ‘Akshya Pol’ while moving on a stone road you will come across the other gate ‘Surer Pol’ which was built by Maharawal Bhim. On the topmost part there is a Toran with a figure of sun embellished to it, these reminds of beautiful Jain arts. After crossing the road you will find ‘Ganesh Pol’ named after the sculpture put on the main lintel and it was the main entrance Pol.

Jaisalmer Fort at Rajasthan consists of romantic palaces, chhatris, bastions, massive gates, handicrafts shops and delicately carved ceilings. The sight of the Fort seems magical during the nights when it is fully lighted.

A visit to Jaisalmer Fort Rajasthan will enrich your traveling experience as it is one of the sought after destination among the tourists around the world.
