Passport and Visa are the most important and basic document needed while you travel around the World. So one should ensure the validity of their passport till the period you happen to stay or visit whichever in India. And if by any chance you lose your passport or visa while traveling, inform your Country’s embassy or local police station immediately.
When to Apply for Passport :
Fall and Winter Season is the best time to apply or renew passport in India. Before traveling ensure your expiry date of the passport and if it’s wanted, get renewed as soon as possible.
Visa :
Visa is needed when you visit to India, Tourist coming from Nepal should only have proper identification and visa is issued at the Airport only.
Types of Visas :
Collective Visa : This facility is for the issue of collective visas to group tours which comprises of members not less than four person and that should be sponsored by an approved travel agency by the Government of India. These groups can split into groups to visit different places of India and later on it should depart together as one group, but before splitting into groups a collective “license to travel” should be obtained from the immigration authorities of India.
Tourists Visa : It is a multi-entry visa for the purpose of tourism that is valid up to 180days. It is valid from the date it is issued.
Business Visa : It is valid for one year or more than that by applying for multiple entries. It can be obtained from the Indian embassy abroad. Before applying this visa you submit a letter from the sponsoring organization showing the probable period of stay, nature of the business etc. Foreigners of Indian origin can get a five year multiple entries.
Transit Visa : This visa is issued for maximum 15 days by Indian Missions abroad.
Student Visa : This visa is issued by the Indian embassy for duration of the academic course. Documents such admission proof and means of sustenance etc is required while applying for it. The validity of the visa is of one year but it can be extended for the duration of the course in India.
Conference Visa : This visa is issued for attending meeting, seminars, and conference in India. Delegates can combine their conference trip with tourism. A letter from organizer of conference is needed to be submitted along with the visa.
Journalist Visa : This visa is for the journalist and photographers who visits India. The applicants need to contact The External Publicity division of the Minister of External Affairs, Government of India Press Information Bureaus on the arrival to Delhi.
Employment Visa : This visa is issued to qualified, skilled professionals who are appointed by organization, companies, economic undertakings as technical experts, technicians, senior executives etc. It is required to submit proof of employment of foreign nationals by the organization or the company.
