Jalore is located on the bank of Sukri river, and enclosed to the border of Marwar, Barmer, Sirohi,Pali and Banaskantha. It was the capital of Chauhan Rajputs during the 12th century. It was procured by Allauddin Khilji in 1310 AD. In the earlier time it was known as Jabalipur. Jalore Fort : Jalore fort is the major attraction. This fort has nine castles established by the Parasmaras during the10th century. It was known as Sonagir (Golden Mount). Jalore fort is deemed to be the most unbeatable forts in the country. The fort of Jalore resided on a top of perpendicular hill, and around 1200 feet high. It has pillars and walls with boomerang mounted on them. You can enter in this fort through only one of its huge gates- Suraj Pol, Dhruv Pol, Bal Pol and Siroh Pol.
The fort of Jalore is now incinerated inside the residential palace. A few of them are on the bulge of downfall. It was established by Allauddin Khilji in the 14 century.
Mosque of Malik Shah : Mosque is housed in the mid of Jalore Fort. It is popular mosque of Mohammedian Saint, Malik Shah, and was established by Allauddin Khilji. This Mosque is zenith by the Gujarati Architectural badges on the designers.
The Jain Temples : There are few famous temples of Jains in Jalore. One of the oldest is Adinath. The mandap was constructed in 1182 AD by Yasoriva. Parsavnath temple was constructed by the Jalore's ruler and reestablished in 1785 AD. The hall of temple was used for performances. Some more temples like Santinatha, Mahavira and Ashtapads are worth to visit.
