Dungarpur is situated in the hillocks of Aravallis and is 120 km away from the city Udaipur and around 420 km away from Jaipur. This city was founded by Rawal Veer Singh in 1282 AD. Dungarpur is famous for Hindu Pushkar pilgrimage centre. This holy place has a great Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva). They all signify the spirit of birth, destruction and preservation. Brahma is the creator with four heads and hands, holding a Vedas. Fairs and Festivals of Dungarpur : In the month of February, on the full moon day, thousands of followers from Bhill tribe assemble at the banks of rivers, Mahi and Som and offer their homage and take the holy bath. It is a celebration, when people sing and dance. It is an interesting fiesta during the fair.
